Profiles
Reija Helenius works as a Head of Development in the customer interface in Statistics Finland. One of her duties is the promotion of statistical literacy. She collaborates with a wide network of different agents, such as a number of educational institutions. Reija Helenius has also been a member of Eurostat’s Digicom project, coordinating Finland’s national Statistics Olympics. Since 2010, Reija Helenius has been the director of the International Statistical Literacy Project. She is an ISI elected member and a member of IASE and IAOS. She is also the chairperson of Tietojohtaminen ry (The Finnish Society for Knowledge Management). She is also an active member of the Finnish Statistical Society.
Pedro comes from Portugal where he is working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Porto teaching statistics and information systems. He is also working in the Department of Methodology and Information Systems in Statistics Portugal. He is a member of the Research Unit LIAAD-INESC (Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support). Pedro was one of the pioneers in organising an ISLP statistical literacy competition for the first time in Portugal in 2006.
Adriana is from Mendoza, Argentina. Magister in Pedagogy of the Sciences, specialized in University lectures, Head Professor at "Universidad Nacional de Cuyo", in Argentina. Member of the Evaluation of Educational Quality team in the Province of Mendoza. Coordinator of the first web page on statistical literacy of Argentina (2009). With more than twenty five years of teaching experience. She has participated in numerous research projects in Mathematics Education and Statistics. Member of the Argentine Society of Statistics. Member of the IASE. At present, it is her desire to promote Statistical Literacy in Latin America.
